Many of you in the cash management industry will remember this audacious robbery in Västberga, Sweden, in 2009, and the impact it had on future security measures. The Secure Innovation team were honoured to be on set during the filming of one of the iconic scenes in Stokholm, just meters down the road from where the robbery took place. Our team were approached by the film crew to offer technical support and insight into available security products at the time.

During the build up to the robbery the criminals attempt to break into a cash box. They try everything from a circular saw, explosives, a welding flame, and even a bespoke titanium guillotine, designed by a Nobel Prize winner! We supplied historical iboxes from our archive to get the perfect shot.
The First Helicopter Heist
This was the first robbery involving a helicopter in Swedish history. It took the robbers to the roof of the cash service building, enabling them to break through the glass pyramid skylight. You’ll have to watch the Netflix series to see how they negotiated entry and delayed the police response.
